DRAKKEN AWARDED MAJOR INTEGRATION CONTRACT IN THAILAND

Drakken is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a fully integrated engineering, procurement, construction management, and commissioning contract by a major multi-national oil producer in the central region of Thailand.  The contract, currently underway and destined for Phitsanulok, is expected to run through Q3 of 2012.

The Drakken team is controlling aspects of manufacturing in Calgary, site construction in Thailand, and procurement & expediting from around the globe.  The contract includes a green field oil production facility, and an export truck loading terminal. 

“This contract allows us to showcase our ability to integrate projects combining automation, power generation, electrical, and instrumentation on a fast track basis.” said Ryan Arsenault, Director for Drakken.  Ben Watts, Project Manager, went on to say that “It is exciting to see our business model and project management experience assist our client's goals in South East Asia to attain first oil on a fast track basis.”  

Drakken' scope of supply on the project will include engineering and construction management, the facility automation system, all fire and gas detection equipment, process instrumentation, electrical power generation and distribution, and all required field construction material.  In addition, Drakken will supply packaged utility modules: one Command to Go module (Integrated facility control room), and one Compression to Go module (Fully packaged redundant instrument air conditioning and compression).

Mr. Watts, an engineering technologist registered with ASET, and a PMP certified project manager, has managed projects domestically and abroad with successful major project experience in Canada, Yemen and Mexico.

About the Field.

The owner holds a majority interest in two concession blocks, acts as an operator and is engaged in exploration activities. Oil layer was discovered from the first exploratory well drilled in 2006 and oil was extracted. In 2007, two additional exploratory wells were drilled from September to Octorber. In March 2008, well tests were conducted and crude oil was discovered in both wells.  Geological evaluation was conducted based on a three dimensional seismic survey carried out from October 2007 to February 2008.
